Sandra announced that she and her family were moving from Hartley, and regretfully she must resign from the committee. A vote of thanks was passed for all her hard work.

2. Minutes of meeting held on 3 March 2005

These were agreed without amendment.

3. Matters Arising

(a) Police - Peter reported he had spoken to Sergeant Smith, who had suggested some questions for the survey.

(b) Vital Villages - Gerald and Derick had attended the seminar on 18 March and will produce report. In essence planning in future will be "bottom up" which is where groups like ours come in. Gerald also reported on contacts made with other village plan teams.

(c) Offer to donate £50 - the offer from Friends of Hartley Countryside was accepted.

(d) Awards for All - Gerald said he and Mark had started completing the form, which is now passed on to Peter to complete the census type information.

(e) Youth - further to last meeting's request, Hannah C suggested Dance, Singing Clubs and a Badminton Club. She also pointed out that there are existing youth clubs in Hartley, eg. Katch (Kids at the Church), and some young people from Hartley go to the Oval at New Barn.

(f) Publicity - Gerald said they had 6 new offers to deliver questionnaires. All Saints' Hall is now booked for 21 May, we agreed to hire it from 9.30 am to 4.30pm.

4. Wellfield

Ivy said the stakeholders' meeting in the morning, which she and Gerald had attended, had been excellent with good attendance from all over the area. And all seemed keen to improve the area, and it is clear there are people willing to help. She said there was a feeling it was difficult to move away from there. Gerald said attendance in the afternoon's residents' meeting was poor, but he learned a lot from the people there.

5. Questionnaire

We have received back 36 of the draft questionnaires, many of them with comments about the questions themselves. Further amendments to the questionnaire were agreed. We agreed to use the Parish Council's freepost address with also boxes in the library etc for return.

(at this point the meeting became inquorate, so no decisions could be taken)

6. Treasurer

Nothing further to report.

7. Village Design Statements

We realised we would need the Parish Council's go ahead to do this.

8. Any other business
