I'm in Gorsewood Rd and I believe we're right ontop of the wooded area that it'll be built. Is it 100% going ahead? Not being a Victor Meldrew, but we moved here for the peace. Note from webmaster - glad you like Hartley. The proposed skateboard facility is, I understand, a fairly small ramp that will be put on the Woodland Avenue Park (if approved by the Parish Council). Woodland avenue recreation ground is too small for this type of developement, wouldn't it better suited to northfield? Reply from webmaster - thanks for the notice and apologies for not publishing it sooner. Northfield has been suggested before but I understand the youth workers were not in favour on child protection grounds. So both Hartley and New Ash Green are progressing separate sites. Woodlands Avenue is small, but nearer than Northfield to those who would use it in Hartley. The Parish Council should be sending a questionnaire to every household for their opinions and there are boxes to drop replies in the shops (although I have not received a copy yet). And as it is election time you can always question the candidates to see what their views are! In that regard I am one of the candidates for the parish council and I do believe such a facility is needed, although like you I think that the Northfield option should not be ruled out. - T Matthews - from: United Kingdom I was not asking for a new toddler playground, but some new equipment for the existing playground in woodland avenue. Woodland avenue recreation ground is often used by a large group of teenagers in the evening and i can't see that adding a few new pieces of equipment for younger children will change that, or make it any worse.
